Connecting-Leadership toward the Great Transformation Era

The 20th South Korean presidential election is over. The presidential election is the most direct political activity that confirms and rebuilds the social trust that our daily lives hold. The president is an ongoing power that is given great authority but limits his term of office and follows the majority’s decision, even if they are not the leader we support. Therefore, we humbly accept the election’s outcome and work hard to produce the next election results.

The president elected by vote, a precious right of democratic citizens, will be granted the constitutional powers and the law to perform his duties for the next five years. The voters will constantly ask the elected president how he will change our daily lives. In particular, we confront the unprecedented and inevitable situation.

In the era of great transformation, issues related to socio-political conflicts, sharing of understanding and values, and digital transformation are spreading faster, making it difficult to detect them more complex. As is evident in the voting situation of strong candidates in this election, demographic and social issues arising from conflicts between individuals and organizations, men and women, and generations are getting deeper.

There are also a growing number of issues that need to be addressed with commonization of global interests and values, such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic blockade and the threat of ecosystems from climate change. Blockchain technology to envision the decentralization of the economic and social system and the data ramping up the digitally-remastering world is creating a difficult problem to detect without stopping the clockwork of the great transformation.

The deepening problems in great transformation are intertwined with various areas of life in our daily lives, so we need to focus on national capabilities and narrow the gaps. In other words, through textual “communication connections” that resolve conflicts in human relationships. There also need “world connections” that narrow reality and virtualization that occurred when all business activities were remastered with digital data, and “value connections” that individuals no longer isolate and share the global interest.

It is really important to solve the problems accumulating in the era of great transformation and create new opportunities for the leap forward. Fortunately, Korea opened a new era in 2000, predicting the fall of the “age of the cathedral” and bringing “a flock of strangers” into the castle. People are the owners, individuals have free thoughts and expressions, competition is hard, but don’t be tired, and we should do well together like me. We sang a song. We sang many songs of love, promising humankind a better day. After repeated ups and downs due to the flow of history, Korea has grown beyond our knowledge. It has become an advanced country pursued by other countries in economic, cultural, social, military, foreign affairs, and health care.

As of 2022, surprisingly, people from many countries are getting closer and closer comfortably as they like Korea and Koreans. Based on our getting-closer capabilities, let’s have a good desire to create Korea that leads the era of great transformation. The start comes from me, myself. It is to abandon the appearance of protecting only one’s interests with the old frame and expand into a wider world as the center of life. First, individuals play the role of seismometers that sense major changes in major transitions while connecting their lives. Next is the connecting- leadership that unites all individuals and integrates the people’s capabilities as if it were a treasure only when a bead is inserted into the end.

What aspect of the Great Transformation era that we really want? Above all, in a situation where social conflict intensifies, it is not a world where a scapegoat mechanism that points the responsibility for the occurrence of a problem to a specific object and reveals hatred, anger, and hostility works. Instead, it is to create a rhizomatic community where we all interact horizontally to build a sustainable global ecosystem. Practice for me creates a world for everyone.
